'Under the bougainvillea' is a concept I made in 3D for a luxury villa on the island of Santorini in Greece.
The idea is to implement modern private housing in the existing sand rocks just like a cave house at the outside coastlines of the island without disturbing or altering the traditional aspect of the coastline too much.
In this presentation it is finished in (Greek) white but by integrating it under and inside the natural stone formation painted in sand colours the result would be a discrete but still spacious property.
It can be equipped with all accommodations and even a garden.
In the video (above) filmed at night you can see some parts of the inside.
The bougainvillea is a vine species grows beautifully all over the island and becomes to 12 m tall, scrambling over other plants with their spiky thorns. The actual flower of the plant is small and generally with the bright colour, including pink, magenta, purple, red. Bougainvillea is sometimes referred to as "paper flower" because the bracts are thin and papery.
